Cystidia: absent
Basidia: hyaline, with basal clamp
Spores: brownish, triangular in frontal view, partially lobed,
irregularly rounded to elliptical in lateral view, 6-8 µm, spines up to 1,5 µm long
Chemical reaction: Hymenium strong cyanescent with KOH
Distribution: considered a rare species in Germany
Note: The very similar Thelephora eucoerulea ss. M.J. Larsen has a lighter hymenophore
and is not cyanescent.
