Basidiome: adherent, loosely felted to mold-like
Hymenophore: smooth to grainy, grayish-brown
Margin: same color as or lighter than the
hymenophore, partially byssoid
Rhizomorphs: absent
Subiculum: same color as the hymenophore
Subicular hyphae: brownish, without clamps, thick-walled, not incrusted, 2.5-7 µm wide
Subhymenial hyphae: hyaline, without clamps, thin-walled, not incrusted,
3-6 µm wide
Cystidia: absent
Basidia: hyaline, partially cyanescent, without basal clamp
Spores: brownish, frontally triangular, laterally irregularly rounded to
elliptical, 8-11 µm, spines up to 2 µm long
Distribution: worldwide in temperate regions, considered a sparsely occurring species
in Germany
Note: Easily distinguishable from other species without clamps by the
irregular rounded spores and the loose hymenophore.
