Syn. Tomentella alpina Peintner & Dämmrich 2010
Basidiomes resupinate, adherent to the substrate (soil, stones
or to the exposed side of broken turf), arachnoid to pelliculose,
up to 1 mm thick, continuous.
Hymenophore smooth, hazelnut brown, reddish brown, without colour changes. Margin notdifferentiated.
Rhizomorphs absent.
Subiculum dark brown, concolorous to slightly darker
than the fertile area, with paler basal hyphae, not incrusted.
Hyphal system monomitic, hyphae not amyloid.
Subicular hyphae brownish, mostly regular, clamped, thick-walled, not incrusted, 5–7.5 μm wide.
Subhymenial hyphae subhyaline, colourless to very pale brown,
clamped, mostly regular, thin- to slightly thick-walled, 5–7.5 μm wide.
Cystidia absent. Basidia subcylindrical
to suburniform, subhyaline,
clamped at the basal septum,
not cyanescent, 35–45 × 7–8 μm, with 4 sterigmata up to 10 μm long.
Basidiospores brownish, pale brown, frontally globose to subglobose, laterally
subglobose to broad ellipsoid, adaxially partly
flattened, (5.5)6.5–8.5(9.5) × (6)6.5–8.5 μm,
